Since I started blogging and tweeting about food, I've discovered so many wonderful home cooks doing exactly the same thing. I don't think I'll ever need to buy another cook book or watch Food TV again. Here are a few gems I've stumbled across that I think I'm going to try out this weekend.
When I was in France, one of the things I loved were crepe restaurants that served crepes for dinner instead of just for breakfast. Before I went to France I always thought of crepes with strawberries and whipped cream, not salmon and asparagus. So I'm going to work on this recipe and hope to recreate a little Paris chez Katie. We'll see how it goes.
I had a lentil soup at a French restaurant in Orlando a few years ago that reminds me of this recipe. When I asked the chef, what the hell he put in that soup because it was crazy good, his reply was "oooh just lentils some sausages and whaterrr". When I returned home I attempted to recreate it but all I got was a hot lentil mess that no one would eat. I suspect he left out a few things so I'm hoping this recipe comes close. It was the only time I got Lily to eat lentils so I'm crossing my fingers on this one. Also, the name of the soup is very fitting since we are going to be a getting another, yes I said another, snow storm this week.
This recipe looks easy and tasty. Lily loves obsesses over noodles and I've been on this low carb diet all week so I think I'll be due for some pasta by Sunday.
If none of these turn out my plans are: frozen waffles for breakfast, bologna sandwiches for lunch, and my husband making us dinner.
